Ariana Global News Volunteer Journalist Program Empowers Afghan Women
Empowering Afghan Women: Ariana Global News Opens Volunteer Journalist Program
Ariana Global News is launching a volunteer journalist program aimed at empowering girls and women across Afghanistan. If you have a mobile phone and a desire to tell the stories of your community, this is your invitation to join a growing network of citizen journalists whose work reaches readers around the world.
Why this program matters
Local voices are essential to accurate, diverse reporting. Women’s perspectives bring attention to issues that might otherwise be overlooked: education, health, community resilience, and daily life under changing conditions. By training and supporting female reporters, Ariana Global News helps amplify those perspectives so they can influence policy, aid, and public understanding globally.
We now publish directly to Google News, and many of our stories have ranked #1 worldwide. That means your reporting can have real visibility and impact — not only locally but on the international stage.
Who can join
- Girls and women across Afghanistan.
- No prior journalism experience required.
- You only need a mobile phone and a willingness to learn and report honestly.
Our program is designed to be inclusive and practical. Whether you live in a city or a remote area, if you can document events, interview neighbors, or capture local stories, you can be part of this network.
What we provide
Ariana Global News provides comprehensive training and ongoing support so volunteer journalists can build essential skills:
- Full training in citizen journalism and ethical reporting.
- Practical lessons in digital media, smartphone photography, and video.
- Guidance on sourcing, verifying facts, and personal safety while reporting.
- Editorial support to help shape and publish stories that meet international standards.
Volunteers are not just learners — they are credited contributors. We pay volunteers 30% of any sponsorships earned from the news category they contribute to. If your reports are picked up by major international outlets, the potential earnings and exposure increase significantly.
Benefits of joining
- Global reach: publish stories that can appear on Google News and other major platforms.
- Real training: gain skills that can lead to future opportunities in media and communications.
- Shared revenue: receive a portion of sponsorships linked to your reporting category.
- Network and mentorship: work with experienced editors and connect with other female reporters.
- Voice and impact: bring attention to issues that matter in your community and beyond.
Stories that resonate
Even simple, locally-focused reports can attract wide attention. A well-documented human-interest story, a timely report on education access, or a clear account of community-led relief work can be picked up by international media. When that happens, your story doesn’t just inform — it changes how the world sees your community.
How to join
Getting started is straightforward:
- Message Ariana Global News expressing your interest and include your location.
- Provide a brief note about why you want to report and what kinds of stories you are most interested in.
- Receive initial guidance and access to our training modules.
- Start reporting using your mobile phone; our team will support editing and publishing.
We prioritize safety and confidentiality. If you have concerns about security or anonymity, discuss them when you message us so we can tailor support and protection measures.
Safety, ethics, and support
We emphasize ethical reporting and the safety of our volunteers. Training includes how to verify information, protect sources, and minimize personal risk. Our editors work with you to ensure accurate, responsible journalism that respects local contexts and international standards.
